RECOFTC in Cambodia

RECOFTC in Cambodia

Along with conducting a broad capacity building needs assessment for community forestry stakeholders in Cambodia, RECOFTC has continued to implement a wide variety of projects supporting the continued and expanded development of community forestry, including the advancement of community forestry management planning, alternative community forestry modalities (i.e. Partnership Forestry, Conservation Community Forestry and Community Based Production Forestry) and community climate change adaptation.

The Cambodia Country Program comprises a broad portfolio of projects and activities across all thematic and functional areas that complement each other and build synergies for ‘learning and leverage’. RECOFTC has also continued to engage with national level platforms and policy processes including the newly renamed Technical Working Group for Forestry Reform (TWG FR), National Community Forestry Program Coordination Committee (NCFPCC), the National REDD+ Technical Working Group and a member of REDD+ Consultation represented by INGOs in Cambodia. In addition, RECOFTC extends its strategic interventions and engage in Community Fisheries and Community Protected Areas through partnership with the Fisheries Administration under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and with the General Department of Administration for Nature Conservation and Protection under the Ministry of Environment.
