Training on Market Analysis and Development (MA&D) for CBEs
Social forestry (HutSos) is seen as one of the best modalities for achieving sustainable forest management. It can support multiple objectives, including the realization of socio-economic (e.g. poverty reduction) and environmental (e.g. reducing deforestation) benefits. The Government of Indonesia (GoI) has set a target to allocate 12.7 million ha for HutSos, however, there are many constraints and challenges in implementing this ambitious target. After communities have been granted HutSos licenses, one of the main and very critical issues for communities is how they can be empowered and equipped to sustainably manage their HutSos, as well as develop forest commodity business strategies for livelihood and income generating purposes.
