Event Update: Gender Leadership Workshop

Two-day workshop held between 7th and 8th August 2019 at Rosemani Hotel, Dolalghat organised by HIMAWANTI Nepal on “Gender Leadership” for elected women representatives of Bhumlu Rural Municipality, Kavrepalanchowk. Workshop was successfully completed in presence of 20 elected representatives from all wards. The event was organised by Bhumlu Rural Municipality and facilitated by HIMAWANTI and backstopped by RECOFTC representatives.

The overall objective of the workshop was to equip elected ward members of Bhumlu Rural Municipality with required skills and knowledge on gender equity (SIGE) and capacitating them with leadership skills to identify their roles and responsibilities. Workshop also focused on updating participants knowledge on gender and social inclusion. Gender Leadership event was also inclined on identifying opportunities and issues on gender in their respective government and equip them to allocate gender responsive budget, plan preparation and implementation focusing on identified issues and opportunities in their respective wards.
