RECOFTC Held Training on Cooperative and MSME Business Start-Up in South Sulawesi
Bantaeng - South Sulawesi. RECOFTC Indonesia held training on Cooperative and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Business Start-Up for 3 days on 12th to 14th September 2018. Twenty three (23) participants participated in the training consisted of representatives of various parties including FMU of Jeneberang I, FMU of Jeneberang II, BPSKL Sulawesi Region, forestry extension agents, local NGOs, Village Business Units (BUMDes), cooperatives, and Forest Farmers Groups from several districts namely Jeneponto, Bantaeng, and Bulukumba.
This training is part of a program to strengthen community entrepreneurship capacity in developing businesses that is implemented by RECOFTC with the support from the RAFT3 project, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry through FMUs of Jeneberang I, and II. For 3 days, participants learned about organizational management, cooperative business models, and the introduction of savings and loans schemes. In addition to these materials, participants also learned about financial management including simple bookkeeping and calculation of business profits for the members, and how to conduct business monitoring and evaluation. With this training, it is expected that the parties' understanding of cooperatives and entrepreneurship will be better which will ultimately improve the livelihoods of the community, especially farmers in South Sulawesi.
