FLEGT & Us: Civil society's role in FLEGT VPA in the Greater Mekong Subregion

Voices for Mekong Forests (V4MF) Project is hosting a 3 day writeshop in Bangkok to develop a guidebook on FLEGT targeting non-state actors, especially the news media and civil society organisations. 

A key component of the project is to provide opportunities to build the capacities of the project's direct implementers by dedicating resources for training and raising awareness on key technical topics related to forest governance. The negotiations under the FLEGT VPAs create an opportunity for non-state actors to address issues of forest governance, but to effectively contribute, they must have a fundamental understanding of the complex FLEGT process.
