Community-based Fire Management in Thailand

The Community-based Fire Management (CBFiM) project addresses the climate crisis, aligning with global goals and the emission reduction targets of Thailand. With expertise from RECOFTC, it engages local communities, authorities and stakeholders in fire management. Nan Province’s high fire incidence makes it a strategic project site. By targeting four communities in Doi Phu Kha National Park, CBFiM aims to demonstrate effective fire management practices, including providing equipment, fostering collaborative responses and supporting technological integration for efficient fire management and knowledge sharing. CBFiM emphasizes community empowerment and cross-sector coordination to enhance climate mitigation efforts in Thailand.
