The Second Regional Forum for People and Forests with the theme: Community Forestry – Key to Solving Current and Emerging Challenges, held at the Siam City Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, successfully concluded on August 9, 2011. The event, hosted by the Royal Forest Department, Thailand was organized by RECOFTC-The Center for People and Forests, together with Forum sponsors UN FAO, JICA and ASFN.  In observance of the United Nation’s International Year of Forests, the Forum brought together over 200 participants from all levels in the Asia-Pacific region to exchange experiences in people-centered forest management.
