RECOFTC is part of the consortium organizing the Festival Panen Raya Nusantara (Parara). The Parara Festival is held every 2 years since 2015. This year it will be held again on December 2-18, 2021. Most of the activities are carried out online, only exhibitions and local food cooking demonstrations are held offline at Cafe PARARA, South Jakarta with limited participants invited. More than 105 local communities and indigenous peoples from all over the archipelago participated in this event. Various creative products, local foods, handicrafts, non-timber products, as well as interactive dialogues in several regions (Kalimantan, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Java and surrounding areas, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Bali, Papua and Maluku) will be the main topic of the festival.

In addition to creative product exhibitions, the 2021 Parara Festival also presents seminar sessions and coaching clinics that will raise interesting topics around entrepreneurship, financial management, creative industries and local craft workshops.

RECOFTC Indonesia will participate in this festival by holding an online discussion with the theme: “Challenges and lessons learned on coffee entrepreneurship during the Covid-19 pandemic”. The aim is to share and discuss the challenges and learnings faced by coffee business people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This discussion will present speakers from various institutions including coffee farmers and it will be held in Indonesian.
