The 2nd Festival of Panen Raya Nusantara (PARARA)

The 2nd Festival Panen Raya Nusantara (PARARA) was held for 3 days in Taman Menteng, Jakarta on October 13th to 15th, 2017 to promote and to provide space for the fair and sustainable community products.

The 2nd Festival Panen Raya Nusantara (PARARA) was held for 3 days in Taman Menteng, Jakarta on October 13th to 15th, 2017. PARARA is a biennial festival, which the first festival was held in 2015. The festival aims at promoting and providing space for the fair and sustainable community products. This festival was organized by PARARA Consortium. 

The festival, which carried the theme ‘Keep Tradition, Treat the Earth’, displayed entreprenurial products of communities and also indigenous people. The festival was creatively organized to provide basic information for the visitors about the importance of local products. 

Quoted from PARARA 2017 press release, Chairman of the PARARA Consortium Jusupta Tarigan said, "PARARA aims to support the local community's economy in a fair and sustainable manner where the management of local community products can sustain local wisdom and the environment. By preserving the local wisdom-based products, while strengthening the nation's identity and brotherhood. Moreover, Indonesia is one of the richest countries in biodiversity in the world, as well as a country that has a very diverse cultural wealth. "PARARA" aims to promote community products and to improve market access that is able to assess these products at a fair price. "
