Orientation Workshop on Free, Prior, Informed and Consent (FPIC) for new project
Regional Community Forest Training Center (RECOFTC) working through the Improved Recognition of Customary Tenure Rights for Land and Forest of Rural Smallholders and Communities in Lao PDR project is organizing the Orientation workshop on Free, Prior, Informed and Consent (FPIC) for project partners and implementers (including a field visit to target villages for data collection).
Workshop objective:
- To provide training on principles and the use of FPIC relates to forest sector for participants
- To visit target villages and coduct FPIC including review of existing Participatory Land Use Planning (PLUPs)/pFALUPUM done by TABI (or VFI), especially forestry and socio-economic data.

The “Improved Recognition of Customary Tenure Rights for Land and Forest of Rural Smallholders and Communities in Lao PDR” project is funding support from “Mekong Region Land Governance-MRLG”,has 4 target villages of Phonxai District, Luang Prabang Province and 4 target villages of Phoukoud District, Xiengkhouang Province in close coordination and collaboration with “The Agro-biodiversity Initiative (TABI)” and “Village Focus International (VFI). The project starts from Jan–Dec 2020.
